Men sat at their desks, on the computers, tapping vigorously, searching for the prize their boss desperately desired. One of them flipped through many apps and windows until it complained in a beep. Without warning, another window popped up, showing a video. He watched the beginning, seeing the virus had taken over another game, about to press X to exit, only to stop when he saw something he believed wasn’t possible. He rewound it over again and scanned the video to make sure it was legit. He then looked in a document and opened up a report to see if it all made sense with his logic. Yes… it did, 100%. He quickly jumped out of his chair and ran to the elevator, leading him up to the top floor where the CEO’s office lied. He tightened his loosened brown tie underneath the white lab coat that swayed over a light blue button up shirt, as he ran from the elevator and into the hallway, his Vans squeaking on the marble floors, running past the secretary, ignoring her warnings to not enter the CEO’s office at this time. He didn’t care. He had important information that the boss would drool over.

“Sir.” he said, forcing his way through the door.
The boss was in a meetiing with two men, discussing business. He stopped in midconversation to look at the man. He took a step back, seeing his annoyed expression, but held strong.
“Sir, it’s important-”
“Can’t you see I’m currently in a meeting. This better be-”
“It’s about the project, sir. I found something you might wanna see.” he gulped, seeing the CEO’s expression change to a dark one.
“What is it?”
“It’s best if you see for yourself, sir.” the worker took a few steps back again.

The CEO sighed as he got up from his seat, quickly changing his serious expression into a kind one as he faced the two men.
“Gentlemen, it appears that we have to postpone this meeting to a later date. Something more important has come to my attention. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must be going. You can plan the next meeting with my secretary.”
He buttoned his suit and left with the man, ignoring the two businessmen’s requests.

Inside the lab, he leaned over the man’s shoulder, watching the screen.
“I’m a patient man Mr.Donavan. Don’t waste it. I may have just thrown $2 million down the drain for your sake.”
Donavan gulped.
“I f-found something you would want to see, s-sir.” he stuttered, “Remember, when you told us to keep an eye out for the girl?”
The CEO nodded.
“Well I found her.” he pulled up a video, “I remember reading in the reports about the girl having abilities beyond our research-”
“I already know of this Mr. Donavan.” he interrupted in annoyance, “If this is what you’ve called me for-”
“I found something new about the girl’s abilities, sir.” he quickly said.
“Explain.” he ordered.

Donavan played the video. The CEO watched intently. In the video, the girl was shown, restrained by wires by a blond-haired man. He fired at her, causing an explosion making debris fall down where she stood. A second later, a brunette man wearing a green bandana, with combat-like attire, attacked from above, firing at him and throwing explosives. Throughout the rest of the video, they watched the fatality of the blond-haired man.

“This is what you wanted to show me? The fact that she has allies?” the CEO slowly clenched onto the chair.
“N-no, sir, look.” he rewound the video and slowed it, “Look at the band around her wrist.”
The video slowed, showing the green wristband slowly turning into small pixels rushing into her palm.
The CEO leaned in closer to the screen wide-eyed.
Donavan then sped forward to the explosion with debris and slowed it times sixty-four.
In a moment after the debris fell, dust covered over where the girl was restrained. Like metamorphasis, she turned into the man, jumping high above the explosion within less than a milisecond.

“This is… extraordinary.” the CEO gawked in awe, “And you’re sure this isn’t fake?”
“Yes. It’s 100% real, sir.”
“So… those abilities aren’t hers afterall.” he took a deep breath and looked around, “Get me Calvin!”

I hissed at the pain as the red streaks fell from the side of my leg.
Ow, ow, ow. Easy, easy, I begged.
I just sighed in response as I continued to put the knife around the bullet, trying to pop it out.
Dammit that hurts, Snake!
Calm down will ya
, Cry answered in annoyance.
Let’s see you get shot and take the bullet out then! I yelled back.
I, Snake, breathed out a frustrated sigh as I continued arguing with Cry.

“Both of you shut up.” I finally said, “Concentrating.”
Sorry. It’s just that- Can you be a little bit more gentler.
It’s not even your first bullet wound,
Cry said in annoyance.
Can it Joker!
I continued to carve out the bullet, ignoring yelps of dismay. Finally, the bullet was taken out. Within seconds, the wound healed. I breathed a sigh of relief as I moved my leg without pain.

So, Snake… Cry changed the subject, How much do you understand about all this?
“Honestly, barely a thing.” my voice tried to answer in a deep tone.
But I told you every-
Figures. Too many details makes it too confusing
, Cry said over me.
I explained it to Red and Russ. They understood it.
Red understood through concrete proof. Russ, I had to explain to all over again. Fuck your details. Keep it down and let me do the talking.
I scoffed at his attitude.
Look, Snake, to sum it all up: A virus made, by corporate assholes, took over YouTube, trapping everyone with an account. Miss McWhinesAlot was a guinea pig for a man-made portal into YouTube. She was sent in and now can’t get back. She finds Red, me, Russ, and you, able to free us through download. And before we found Russ, I made a deal with her to free everyone as we search for a YouTube Log In.
I nodded, understanding.
See, too much details make it confusing, Cry said.
Damn biased adults, I said under my breath, pouting.

“Jeez.” I said as my appreance turned back to its original self.
Cry and Snake discussed quietly to each other about the Virus, getting Snake up back to speed. Apparently another day had passed in the reality, meaning he now had been stuck in CyberNet for four days.
So what happened in there? Cry asked, “Who trapped you?”
Liquid, he answered.
Damn, Cry breathed.
“Ah, you should’ve seen it, Cry. Liquid had powers over wires and had me restrained playing good/bad mafioso. Then I finally downloaded Snake after Liquid Snake came out with a Metal Gear, then spew, spew, pew!” I made sounds of explosions, “Then he beat up all those guards. They all like brrrrathathatha. Then he was like Whopa!” I sighed, “So much precison and speed. It was awesome.”
They were both silent.
Snake? Cry asked.
I won, he answered.
Ah…
I gave out a nervous laugh, “Sorry, I guess I got carried away. It's a bit hard to explain fully in words rather than sounds.”

I finally got up, “Well, let’s get going. We can’t waste anymore time.”
I yawned with a stretch, facing the overgrown forest that stood before me.

“You’re sure this legit?” Trev said, watching the video with a shocked expression.
“Yes. I scanned it and everything.” Donavan answered.
“I see.” Trev answered, “This is more than what we could have ever hoped for. My data mixed with the Virus changed its programming entirely. Instead of it opening locked doors, it’s able to free the YouTubers from the Virus’ grasp entirely. It absorbs their data, extracting them from the Virus, downloading them so to speak. This is unheard of.”
He adjusted his glasses, turning to the keyboard to analyze the girl’s movements. His eyes went wide as he got closer to the end.
“After downloading them, she becomes a complete replica of the YouTuber for a short time. The data inside of her must be analyzing and breaking down all of the YouTuber’s attriubutes thus letting her turn back into herself, except with their characteristics. This wasn’t at all calculated in my research.”
“A Happy-Accident.” the CEO congratulated.

Trev sighed, shaking this head, “This may be good news for our research,” he turned in his chair around to face him, “but bad news for you. Since the Virus has integrated itself with the data inside Kaina, extracting it will be nearly impossible to get, even without neuron connection.”
“Then find another way to get it back, Mr. Calvin.” the CEO chuckled, hiding his anger.
“The odds of actually finding another way are at 0.4%.” he answered, “I created this data to give her the same leniency as the YouTubers, being able to go wherever she pleased. But, when you had those idiots send out that Virus, it changed the code completely. Yes, there is a possibility that she’ll be able to unlock any door in CyberNet, however, there’s also a possibility that small characteristic in the data could be gone completely.”
The CEO grabbed him by the collar, “Find a way to extract the data.” he let go of him, “Leave finding the girl to me.”
“We all know how that’s going to end. Just like your past attempts, failures.”

The CEO’s hands clenched into fists, “And what would you have me do, Mr. Calvin?”
“This isn’t the first Virus capture with a feed. Others were programmed the same way in case some of your workers had to go in personally if there was a problem. It’s possible that Kaina has fought with some of our A.I. with feeds in the past, not to mention your failed attempts. We can study them, analyze their movments, then you can send in your fighters to collect.”
The CEO smirked at the idea, “Very well then Mr. Calvin. I’ll leave the analysis to you and your team.”

The leaves and branches flowed by me like green waves. I jumped from branch to branch, finally landing on the ground, running with great speed. Vines were cut before me, keeping me from getting caught. I jumped high over the trees to view my location.
Woohoo! I screamed in mid-air, This is amazing!

I landed down crouched, looking around. I made a decision and went left, picking up the pace. I jumped through a thick set of vines and rolled to the side of a car. I gasped, looking around to see I was in a familiar city. I turned back into my original self.
“Oh no.” I groaned, “Cry…”
I know… Kind of was hoping we wouldn’t come back here.
I looked passed the car I was behind to see a few people drunkly walking. I quickly hid back, feeling someone’s eyes watching me.
“Okay, how many did you guys see?” I asked.
Three. Cry quickly answered.
“Okay… who wants to aim the gun?” I said taking a deep breath.
I finally got up from my hiding place. A pistol formed in my hand and fired at two. I quickly turned to the right, shooting at the third before it could react. They all turned into melted goop. The gun disappeared.
“Thanks, Cry.” I said, turning to run in the opposite direction, away from the newly sizled puddles of yellow-green slime.

I had run a few blocks further into the city. The deeper I got, the more uneasy I felt. I crossed my arms for comfort as I went down an alley to an open street. Some human A.I. seemed to be there, walking their merry way to who knows where. I looked around for any signs of twitched up freaks that could pounce on me at any moment.
So far it’s been smooth sailing. Cry sighed, I don’t think we’ll run-
My body quickly jumped back, rolling to the side. A bullet pierced the ground a few inches from where I stood. I looked up to see no one. The feeling of uneasiness washed over me even more.
“Guys, I’ve got a bad feeling.”

Run, Snake ordered.
I did so, running down the street, into an alley, and entered another street. The streetlights only lit up a quarter of the road. I slowed to a walk, looking in every direction. A grunt was heard in the distance. I looked up to see a car heading for me. I quickly got out of the way to see it crash into one of the closed shops, its car alarm turning into a creepy melody that slowly died down.
“Whoa. What the-?” I gasped.
Okay… Cry said in a small pitched voice.

I ran in the same direction. There just had to be an exit somewhere close by. I froze in my tracks when I heard a familiar psychotic laugh.
“C-Cry, please tell me that was you doing an imperonation of James.”
“No.” he said in a tiny voice.

Seizuring vamps jumped down from the top of buildings and shadows.
Cry sighed, Here we go again.
My clothes quickly changed with twin pistols in my hands. I quickly aimed them at the seizured group. The bullets flew from the pistols. With ease, the vampires dodged them.
“What?” I tried again, only to see the same effect, “Is it just me or did these guys get smarter since the last time we fought them?”
A few ran in my direction, striking. I tried my best to block and counter attack, partially failing. One pushed me into a building, making the bricks crack and indent with the shape of my body. It held me by the shirt with a growl. My arm pushed it back, by the throat, a few inches away from my face. It pushed against my stronghold, inching closer. I then snapped its neck. It coughed out a wheezed, its head slowly turning back in its place. I quickly aimed a gun at its head and fired, getting out of the way as it melted.

Two held me by the throat, about to strike. I then forced two fireballs into their stomachs, watching them combust into ash. I jumped up as more hoards of them came running out of the shadows. About to burst into flames, nets were thrown over me, entangling and pulling me down. I fell on the street hard. I then burned the net away, looking up with an annoyed glance at the many roofs to see silhouettes watching me. I pointed my guns around me, ready. They lunged, I fired. Many fell, however, most dodged.

One picked me up and threw me through one of the shops’ windows. I got up with a grunt.
“Snake, would you mind taking over for a while…” I wheezed, “It’s not like you’ve got anything better to do. Besides… this is your forte, right?”
My body stood, serious, facing the hoard of vampires that stood before me. I pointed my pistol at them and shot two in the head. They melted down in the blink of an eye.

They all lunged toward me. I smirked then quickly turned back serious. I stabbed one straight in the head, jumping over its back to attack the next. Knives flew all over, making the newly form sea of slime grow. I stopped one of them from clawing me, kicking him back, firing my pistol at him. I looked to the side a little too late to have one sock me in the side. I tumbled a few times, finally landing on my feet, sliding a few feet back. I looked up at the group that was left and gestured for them to come over. In just a few shots and slashes, they were all puddles of goop. I took a deep breath and relaxed.

That laugh howled in the night once more. I quickly jumped out of the way when a man tried to stroke me with his claws. He laughed at my agility with intrigue. Two vampires quickly got behind me, holding my arms back. He slowly approached with the intent to finally kill me. I sighed slightly shaking my head. I jumped up, slicing his chest and pushing off to back flip out of the other two’s grasp. I threw three granades toward them. The explosion was great, flinging around slimy bits of the corpses.

The laugh came from behind me. I was stricken from the side and flung into a building. I bounced off on impact, falling straight down to the concrete. I quickly got up to face him only to fall down on one knee.
Snake, I said, I can’t take another hit like that. Whatever you’re gonna do, do it now.
I nodded then ran for him, throwing a few grenades at his feet. I jumped up, forcing a knife into the top of his head, stringing a dozen of grenades with them. They combusted, forming a smoke cloud. I looked back seeing more groups of seizured folk had come to the rescue.
“Cry” I called out.
On it, he answered.

I stood in place, concentrating as my clothes changed once more. Fire licked at the street, gaining speed at it formed a tornado around me. I let go, watching it spread toward the groups that were undable to jump out of the way in time.

I tiredly looked around to see nothing but piles of ash. My clothes changed once more to get out the way of another attack from James. I looked up in shock to see half of his face gone, just the skeleton and half charred eye remained. He laughed in my direction, striking again. I was able to dodge.
Fucking hell... Does anything kill this guy? Cry yelled.
I looked around, an old building catching my eye.
“We need leverage.” I quickly said.
What do you… mean? I asked, trying my hardest to stay conscious.
“We need something to trap him.” I answered, “Cry, you ready?”
Start any time. he answered.

I ran for the run down building.
Middy, Cry called out, I’m going to trigger flight later. Think you’re up for it?
Y-yeah, I think so.
I answered.

Inside I ran, jumping over crumbled pieces of the building, throwing C4 wherever I could. I ran out for the exit on the opposite, only to hear an familiar laugh. He took the bait. I ran down the long hall of pipes and fallen debris toward the exit. Hands forced themselves through the pipes and wall, reaching toward me.
“Cry.” I called out.
Wihtin seconds my clothes turned blue and busted into flames as I flew out of there. My eyes struggled to stay open.
“Snake, go ahead.”
My clothes changed once more as I turned in mid air putting C4 on the walls, only to change back to blue and fly out of there. The explosion finally gave way, breaking whatever stronghold that kept the building standing. The top crumbled down as the rest of the building followed, collapsing on itself.

I couldn’t stay awake much longer. I slowly fell unconscious, tumbling in the street, colliding with the sidewalk. With a cough, I opened my eyes and sat up, tiredly wheezing, watching the dust cloud clear. I could barely stand, slowly making my way toward the rubble.
“Kay guys.” I breathed, “Let’s get this over with.”
I looked around as I tried my best to climb over big pieces of debris. I couldn’t find anything. Fate, wanting to scare me half to death, pointed it out for me. Or should I say, he found me. A hand grabbed hold of my ankle. I turned to see him peaking from under the debris, stuck.

There comes a time in a man’s life when he must take credit for his victory... Snake, would you like to do the honors? Cry asked.
A Beretta Pistol formed in my hand and shot four bullets into the man’s head. Laughing no longer escaped from the creepy corpse, just the sound of an acidic sizzle.
Good job, buddy, Cry congratulated.

I left the site, taking one step at a time to a storage warehouse, sitting behind one of the heavy packages and dozed off. It felt like I hadn’t slept in years.

In an office a few floors down from the CEO’s office sat a young man at his desk. A woman sat on top, talking to him.

Trev entered the door, prompting the woman to stand up and leave the office.
“How’d it go?” he asked.
“He suspects nothing.”
“Excellent.” the man smirked.

Good day/ morning/ evening/ night everyone. Hope you all had an awesome 4th of July/ Friday.
Sigh Finally able to post this chap. Honestly, this one was really tricky. I tried to make Snake talk as less as I could to make it seem like... well... Snake, of course ^^;. Don't know if I did well on that. If not, let me know.
I hope this chap also answers the many questions about how Middy is able to do what she can... do ^^;
I think I made Cry sound a bit bratty in this one. Sorry about that, kind of missed the bickering between the two, but it all clears up later in the chap, right.
Teamwork, baby... freakin' teamwork :iconwecandoitplz:
Hope you guys enjoy this chap!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll answer them ASAIC.
*Side Note: Ch. 1 thru 21 is over 105 pages. :iconpapersplz:*

Ah geez, I'm loving this story. I had it sitting in my inbox for the longest while and finally got around to reading it. I'm glad I did, I'm hooked. I can't wait for the next chapter. Also, I think you nailed Snake. Keep up the awesome stuff! =D
